Accommodation

Pilgrims stay in tents on a large site just on the edge of the village of Walsingham. Groups are responsible for bringing their own tents, food and equipment. There are toilet and shower facilities on site. Worship and other activities take place in a large marquee on the campsite or in the grounds of the Anglican Shrine.

Safety

We take your safety very seriously but we do advise you to look carefully at your own risk assessment procedures and to ensure you have adequate first aid provision within your group. There will be an ambulance and a team of professional paramedics on site throughout the event.

The Youth Pilgrimage is open to groups of young people who will be supervised by their own leaders. Each group must be accompanied by the required number of adults aged 18 and above, and all leaders must have been through the CRB enhanced disclosure procedure as stipulated by their own Diocesan Child Protection guidelines.

Group leaders are required to provide us with a letter signed by their ‘named person’ for child protection confirming that CRB certificates have been issued to all their leaders when they book.

The campsite is thoroughly secure and is patrolled by stewards and a security team. Personal ID wrist bands will be issued to all pilgrims on arrival.
